During the Armed Forces Day 2019 National Event in Salisbury from 28th to 30th June to be held at Hudson’s Field, I am delighted to announce that I have also been invited by Salisbury City Council to run felting workshops, with the objective of producing a large display piece consisting of smaller felted postcards produced by members of the Salisbury community.
The project I have created and that has been agreed and funded by Salisbury City Council is called “A Window on Salisbury”.
Participants will be invited to come and make a small piece of felt – a pane of glass – depicting what Salisbury means to them in their own words, view or objects. At the end of the event, all the small felt “postcards” will be stitched together by me to create a large “window” on Salisbury to be hung in the Salisbury Guildhall.
Armed Forces Day National Event 2019 will be the biggest free to attend event in Wiltshire this year – it offers an opportunity to thank the Armed Forces and their families, who contribute so much to the community.
