Looking Back on the Month of July 2015

Where did that month go?!!

Here’s a few things that happened during July:

Step in Stone

I have put up a couple of blogs during the month with photos of the Step in Stone Project as it progresses.  The next excitement is Step 2 of the project (15 Aug – 18 Oct) – the installation of work at both Westdown/AshamWood Quarry and Halecombe Quarry next Friday, 14 August.   Watch this space for more pictures once it is all up and running!!

I will be running two workshops:

Tuesday 25 August 9.30-3.30 at Somerset Earth Science Centre (SESC) Moons Hill Quarry, Stoke St Michael, BA3 5JU

Tuesday 13 October 9.30-1.00 at the Black Swan Arts Centre, 2 Bridge Street, Frome BA11 1BB

Come and have fun wet felting with locally sourced wool and stones.  For more information see www.stepinstone-somerset.co.uk (workshops, walks, talks)

Just a funny story to keep you amused: the two huge quarry stones that I had chosen, measured etc and worked with for my forthcoming installation in Westdown Quarry were no longer in situ when I visited last week!  They had been resited  – just something an artist has to deal with and makes life more interesting!!

Where did they go?!
